In all his works of the 1920's to 30's Frederick Kiesler foresaw many esthetical and technical developments, which could be realized not till in our days. This "visionary precision" is the basis for the installation "Die Bühne ist leer (The Stage is vacant)" Slideprojectors and a four-channel sound system, connected with digital and analog means and controlled by data movements of external processors, change the real space into an abstract virtual-kinetic "Raumbühne (Kiesler)". Based on the geometric rhythm of circle and square a line is constructing a sculpture. Going back from the third dimension to the second the line forms a reduced sign.
Lightprojections on the floor mark the four points of the compass in different colours and locate the geographical position of the sculpture in the exhibition hall. I used UV-sensitive material. The spectator can move through the sculpture.
